TwInn4MicroUP at the VIVENDI Workshop in Belgrade

October 30, 2026

TwInn4MicroUp was presented at the VIVENDI Workshop “Innovative Ways of Biomass Valorization”, held on 15–16 October 2026 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Belgrade. Dr. Jasmina Nikodinović-Runić, head of the EDB laboratory at IMGGE participated as an invited speaker.

Her lecture, “From Waste to Value: Microbial Platforms for Sustainable Biocatalysis, Biopolymers and Functional Materials”, presented the EDB laboratory’s research on microbial cultures and bio-based materials. She also introduced TwInn4MicroUp to the workshop audience, connecting the team’s research with the project’s focus on synthetic microbial biotechnology and sustainable materials.

The workshop brought together researchers, young scientists and industry representatives to discuss how biomass can be transformed into high-value products. Discussions linked fundamental research with technological development and practical applications in biomass valorisation.

The workshop was organised by the VIVENDI project, the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, University of Belgrade, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. VIVENDI is funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia under the DIASPORA programme (Grant No. 17475).
