TwInn4MicroUp at SETCoMS 2026: Advancing Collaboration in Microbial Sciences
Members of the Laboratory for Eco-biotechnology and Drug Development (IMGGE) participated in the 1st South-East Transnational Congress of Microbial Sciences (SETCoMS 2026 & MIKROMED REGIO 6), held in Belgrade, Serbia, from 10–13 June 2026. The congress brought together researchers, professionals, and innovators from across the region and beyond under the theme “MicroFusion, Big Impact – Microbiology, Health & Environment in Harmony”.
SETCoMS 2026 served as a multidisciplinary platform for presenting recent advances in microbial sciences and promoting collaboration among researchers working in microbiology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, health, and related disciplines. The scientific programme addressed a wide range of topics, including microbial biotechnology, environmental microbiology, microbial ecology, industrial applications, antimicrobial resistance, and sustainable solutions. During the congress, members of the Laboratory for Eco-biotechnology and Drug Development presented their latest research findings, participated in scientific discussions, and exchanged knowledge with colleagues from different areas of microbiology. The event also provided valuable opportunities to establish new professional contacts and explore future collaborative initiatives with researchers from national and international institutions. Participation in SETCoMS 2026 also contributed to increasing the visibility of the TwInn4MicroUp project within the scientific community. By engaging with experts from diverse disciplines, project representatives promoted the project’s objectives and strengthened its network of collaborators, supporting TwInn4MicroUp’s mission to advance research excellence in microbial biotechnology through international cooperation and interdisciplinary knowledge exchange.
