TwInn4MicroUp at the AI 4 LIFE: Biotech Future Forum 2025
In October 2025, the TwInn4MicroUp project actively contributed to the AI 4 LIFE: Biotech Future Forum, held in Belgrade and organised by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in collaboration with the World Economic Forum and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Supported by the BIO4 Campus, Serbia’s national platform for biotechnology, biomedicine, bioinformatics, and biodiversity (bio4.rs), the event gathered representatives from leading biotech companies, research institutions, and public authorities.
As a major industry-oriented event, the Forum aligned strongly with the TwInn4MicroUp mission to foster collaboration between science and industry, particularly through activities dedicated to industrial engagement, innovation uptake, and co-creation of market-relevant biotechnologies. The event focused on the intersection of biotechnology and artificial intelligence, showcasing how advanced biological research and digital tools can support sustainable development, circular bioeconomy, and high-impact industrial solutions. These topics directly resonate with the TwInn4MicroUp vision to develop a Research and Innovation Hub for Synthetic Microbial Biotechnology, with applications in microbial bioprocessing and the valorisation of plastic and industrial waste streams.
IMGGE representatives participated in expert sessions and discussions with relevant biotechnology companies and policymakers. Their engagement strengthened the visibility of TwInn4MicroUp within Serbia’s dynamic biotech landscape, helped identify possibilities for industry collaboration, and reinforced the project’s commitment to connecting scientific excellence with practical, innovation-driven applications.
