TUS Research Week 2025

March 3, 2025

From February 17–21, 2025, the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) hosted its third annual Research Week, a vibrant celebration of innovation, enterprise, and interdisciplinary research. This year’s theme, Impact Pathways for Enterprise & Innovation, spotlighted key university initiatives such as the TUS RISE Programme, creative research platforms, and socially driven innovation strategies. As part of the TwInn4MicroUp project’s outreach and dissemination efforts, researcher Necdet Ozcelik participated in the event as both a poster presenter and speaker, contributing to the Circular Systems & Nature breakout session on February 18th at the Coonagh Campus. During the session, the TUS team shared insights and experiences drawn from the project’s work on sustainable design, resource efficiency, and nature-based biotechnological solutions. These discussions focused on practical approaches to advancing circular systems, with emphasis on the integration of synthetic biology and microbial tools in achieving environmental sustainability. Through both presentation and dialogue, the team highlighted how TwInn4MicroUp contributes to the development of impactful, real-world applications—bridging scientific research with societal and environmental needs. The event also provided opportunities to explore impact scenarios and cross-sector synergies, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable innovation pathways.

Participation in TUS Research Week further reinforced TwInn4MicroUp’s mission to promote knowledge exchange, build interdisciplinary connections, and support science-driven transformation across Europe and beyond.
