TwInn4MicroUp at Biotrans 2025 – 16th International Symposium on Biocatalysis and Biotransformations

July 15, 2025

The 16th edition of the Biotrans Symposium took place from 29 June to 3 July 2025 in Basel, Switzerland, hosted by the Biotrans Society and the University of Basel. This leading international event brought together over 600 researchers and professionals working on applied biocatalysis, enzyme engineering, and sustainable transformations.

IMGGE researchers Ivana Aleksic, Brana Pantelic, and Jelena Milovanovic represented the TwInn4MicroUp project through three poster presentations, showcasing experimental progress on novel biocatalytic systems based on bacterial spores and their potential for use in plastic degradation and biotechnological processes.

Participation in Biotrans 2025 was an opportunity to enhance the visibility of TwInn4MicroUp within the global biocatalysis community and to exchange knowledge with academic and industry stakeholders. The team attended lectures and sessions related to enzyme discovery, synthetic biology, and green chemistry—gaining new insights that will directly benefit future project activities.

The presence of TwInn4MicroUp at this high-level symposium marks another step forward in building scientific excellence, promoting sustainability-focused research, and fostering collaboration across Europe.
