TwInn4MicroUp at the IMGGE Open Day 2025

December 10, 2025

On 19 November 2025, the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGE) in Belgrade organised its annual IMGGE Open Day, an event aimed at fostering interaction between researchers, students, and their teachers. This year’s programme included a special session supported by the TwInn4MicroUp project, highlighting the project’s commitment to youth engagement, scientific literacy, and public outreach. The session featured two invited speakers, Dr. Dusan Milivojevic and Dr. Marijana Ponjavic, who delivered interactive presentations introducing students to the fundamentals of microbial biotechnology and genetic engineering, as well as ongoing TwInn4MicroUp activities. The event gathered 22 high school students from several Belgrade schools, offering them an opportunity to explore modern molecular science and engage directly with active researchers. Over the course of 45 minutes, the presentations sparked lively discussions and curiosity among the participants. Many students expressed interest in pursuing studies in molecular biology, biotechnology, and related fields, demonstrating the impact of targeted outreach in inspiring future generations of scientists.
