TwInn4MicroUp at Biennale Architettura 2025 and the International Book Fair
In 2025, the TwInn4MicroUp project expanded its communication and outreach beyond the scientific community through participation in two prominent cultural events, Biennale Architettura 2025 in Venice and the International Book Fair in Belgrade.
At the Biennale, held from 10 May to 23 November 2025, under the theme “Intelligence, Natural, Artificial, Collective“, researchers from IMGGE, led by Jasmina Nikodinović-Runić, collaborated with architects and artists from Montenegro in the project Terram Intelligere: Interstitium.
Their contribution demonstrated how microbiological processes and living bacterial cultures can become an integral part of architectural experimentation, creating bridges between biotechnology, ecology, and design. This collaboration highlighted the project’s mission to promote interdisciplinary innovation and sustainable solutions through microbial research.
Later that year, the TwInn4MicroUp team participated in the International Book Fair in Belgrade (25 October-2 November 2025). Led by Jasmina Nikodinović-Runić, Ivana Aleksić, and Dušan Milivojević, the team presented the project’s goals and achievements to a broad public audience, including students, educators, publishers, and media. The fair served as an ideal venue to communicate the importance of microbial biotechnology and plastic upcycling in a relatable, engaging way, promoting awareness of Horizon Europe initiatives and inclusive science communication.
Through these appearances at the intersection of science, art, and culture, TwInn4MicroUp continues to strengthen its outreach impact and bring biotechnology closer to society, inspiring sustainable thinking across disciplines and audiences.
