European Biotech Week – B-Factor

October 5, 2025

The European Biotech Week – B-Factor event took place on 30 September 2025 in Taranto, Italy, organized by Regione Puglia, Comune di Taranto, Provincia di Taranto, and the Camera di Commercio Brindisi–Taranto. The initiative explored Biotechnology as an “x-factor” capable of influencing progress in everyday life and in response to recent global challenges. The 2025 edition was held jointly with Future Farming – Cultivating Innovation for a Sustainable Future, promoted by Eurota ETS and hosted at the Dipartimento Jonico in Taranto.

The event featured meetings and discussions dedicated to innovation in agriculture and aquaculture, with a strong focus on renewable energy, sustainability, and circular growth for the Apulian region. As part of the European Biotech Week programme, the UNIBA partner contributed to B-Factor by presenting the Twinn4MicroUp project to students, businesses, and local authorities. The team highlighted the scientific objectives and societal relevance of the project, underlining its role in advancing sustainable biotechnology and regional innovation. Representing UNIBA and the micro4biotech group, Isabella Pisano and Nicola Di Fidio delivered oral presentations and actively engaged in discussions with participants, showcasing how Biotechnology can drive innovation, sustainability, and territorial development.

Participation in B-Factor offered an important opportunity for Twinn4MicroUp to strengthen its outreach efforts, engage with regional stakeholders, and promote a broader understanding of biotechnology’s contribution to circular and sustainable development in Puglia.
