School visits / October – December 2024, Greece

January 13, 2025

As part of our commitment to fostering awareness and education on sustainability and biotechnology, the TwInn4MicroUp project recently welcomed students from various schools to the laboratories of NTUA and UNIBA. These visits provided an exciting opportunity for young minds to explore cutting-edge research and learn about the transformative potential of science.

Students of different ages toured the facilities at each institution, gaining firsthand insight into the world of microbial biotechnology and sustainable practices. The visits included engaging presentations on each laboratory’s research projects, with a special focus on the collaborative TwInn4MicroUp initiative. Through interactive discussions, students learned how this groundbreaking project aims to tackle global plastic waste challenges by converting plastic waste into valuable bioactive compounds and biomaterials.

The tours were designed to ignite curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists. From exploring state-of-the-art equipment to understanding the real-world impact of research, the students left with a deeper appreciation for the role of science in building a sustainable future.

These visits reflect TwInn4MicroUp’s dedication to community engagement and education, as we strive to bridge the gap between research and society. By reaching out to young learners, we aim to foster a culture of innovation and environmental responsibility.

Stay tuned as we inspire minds and drive innovation, working together toward a future where science and sustainability shape a better world.
